UA16-30-10RA 220-230V 50Hz / 230-240V 60Hz Block Contactor by ABB
The UA16-30-10RA is a 3-pole contactor designed for capacitor switching in installations where peak current significantly exceeds 100 times nominal rms current. These contactors come complete with damping resistors and must be used without additional inductances. Capacitors must be discharged with maximum residual voltage at terminals ≤ 50 V before re-energization when the contactors are making. Electrical durability is 250,000 operating cycles for Ue below 500 V and 100,000 operating cycles for Ue between 500 V and 690 V.
The UA..RA contactors feature a special front-mounted block allowing serial insertion of 3 damping resistors to limit current peaks during capacitor bank energization. This design precharges the capacitor to limit the secondary current peak during main pole making. The resistor insertion effectively damps the highest capacitor current peak at switch-on, regardless of level.
These 3-pole series contactors have a block-type design with 3 main poles and 1 built-in auxiliary contact. Control circuit is AC operated with a laminated magnet circuit. A wide range of accessories is available.
